The Story

The Story

Every set of nails you find here is designed and made by one person — me, Naomi Barker, a nail artist based on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland.

I've loved nails for years. I painted characters on my nails using children's acrylic paint in my early 20s before I knew nail art was a thing.
A few years ago I picked up the hobby again but took it more seriously. I got qualified as a nail tech, but my joy came from creation and I knew what I really loved was making sets at home, but I didn't know how I could turn that into a business.
I experimented with 3D work in my spare room in the evenings and started creating nails in my own aesthetic - the grungy, alternative style that you'll find in many of my listings. I posted my work online on social media, and got a message from someone asking if I would make them a 3d snake set. Well, that was it! I started Naomi Barker Nails and started selling!

(One of the first 3D sets I posted online)

Handmade, Every Time

Every set is designed and crafted by me personally. I'm not running a factory — I'm an independent artist working on new designs when I can, in between my day job, looking after my family, studying and creating orders. What you're buying is genuinely handmade, not mass-produced and that's the difference! These sets are made using salon products so they are durable. They're not the flimsy nails you find in a store.

The Custom Order Experience

The listings on my site are my own designs, so are made to my tastes, but I'm happy to make custom sets in any style. I get so much joy from receiving messages from happy customers, whether their order included snakes and skulls, or pink glitter and bows.
If you don't see exactly what you're looking for, custom orders are always welcome. You'll get a free sizing kit so your nails fit perfectly (or for a quicker turn around you can measure you nails), and we'll work together on the design until it's right. It's a personal process — because that's the only way to do it properly.

Why Press-Ons?

Press-ons done well are just as striking as a salon set. In fact each set is made with salon products— and they're reusable, travel-friendly, and yours to keep.
I design every set to be worn, not just photographed. If adhered properly they should stay put for over 2 weeks, and can then be removed, cleaned up and, if you want, reapplied.
They're amazing for people who cant wear nails at work or just want them for an event. Personally, I love press ons because I can remove them once proper growth is starting to show, and move them back down. I refuse to have more than 2 weeks growth showing! They're just user friendly in every way.

Still growing

Naomi Barker Nails isn't my full-time job — but it's where I put my art and where I find my joy. Cheesy, yes, very. But true.
I started on Etsy and moved to my own store to build something more permanent. Every order helps make that happen and I appreciate all my customers so much.

If you have questions, want a custom set, or just want to talk nails — I'm always reachable. Just email me, use the websites contact form or find me on socials and send me a DM.
